Harvest Fundraising 2020

At this time of year, we give thanks for all the blessings we have received and try as a school to reach out and help others through our Harvest fundraising. This has been a very unusual year, and we are unable to accept our usual donations of food or funds for charity, or celebrate together as a community at our Harvest Mass. We would still like to give families the opportunity to support others at this Harvest time and are writing to give you a couple of suggestions which you may wish to support as a family.

Abingdon Emergency Food Bank

The Abingdon Food Bank are always grateful for donations, and their services have been needed even more than usual this year. They are based at Christ Church, Northcourt Road, Abingdon. Information about which foods are suitable and how to get them to the Food Bank or other collection points can be found on their website https://abingdon.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

CAFOD Harvest Appeal

The Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD) are running a Harvest appeal called the ‘Rebuild Lives Coronavirus Appeal’, working to support families in developing countries whose lives have been severely impacted by coronavirus. Information and the opportunity to donate online can be found here: https://cafod.org.uk/Give/Donate-to-Emergencies/Coronavirus-appeal

We hope that you may feel able to support one or both of these worthy charities who are working hard to support families in need both locally and around the world.
