Nursery Class Admissions
Thank you for your interest in our Nursery Class, which is part of our Early Years provision.
Children who join our Nursery Class enjoy all the benefits of an Early Years setting, with dedicated staff, a large classroom and an engaging outdoor area, together with the advantages of being part of the wider school community. Our Nursery Class have lunch in the school hall and spend some time on our playground each day, and the older children enjoy coming to help them and look after them. Many, but not all, of our Nursery children move up into our Reception Class and their experience in Nursery and familiarity with the Early Years staff mean that this is a smooth transition.
Children can join our Nursery at the beginning of the term after their 3rd birthday, when Universal Early Education Funding entitlement starts. This provides at least 15 hours a week of free Nursery provision during termtime. Some families are also entitled to an additional 15 hours of provision - click here to find out more. You may also choose to pay for additional sessions.
If you have any questions about our Nursery or would like to come and visit, please contact the school office in the first instance. We regularly run 'Stay and Play' and 'Stay and Sing' sessions and attending these sessions is a good way to find out more about our Nursery Class. Admissions into Primary School Nursery Classes are dealt with by the Primary School.
PLEASE NOTE that attendance in a school nursery does not automatically entitle your child to a place in a Reception year class at St. Edmund’s Catholic Primary School. You still have to apply for this through the Oxfordshire Council - School Applications - Oxfordshire.
